CHLOE BREW COUNSELLING
Face-to-face, online and outdoor counselling in Manchester
SELF-CRITICISM can feel like a painful, repeating loop of over-thinking. It comes in many forms but you might be telling yourself that you are a bad person, not good enough, or boring, ugly or fat.
Far from motivating you, it’s my belief that punishing yourself in this way actually limits your choices and actions and keeps you stuck. Quite simply, talking to yourself in a mean way doesn’t get you anywhere. It keeps you in the incessant loop of asking ‘why am I not good enough?’ or ‘what have I ever achieved?’.
Talking to another person, and opening up about this habit can really help and move you towards a more enjoyable way of living.
WHY COUNSELLING?
People access counselling for any number of reasons, and everyone’s circumstances are unique.

You may have something specific you want to talk about – whether it be something that has happened in the past, a current situation, or worries about the future. It may be that you feel panicky, unsettled, unfocussed, lost or down. Or that you find it hard to express your feelings at all, and this is getting in the way of relationships and other parts of your life.

Starting a conversation with a friend, partner, family member or colleague can be difficult and a barrier to moving forward. It’s likely that you are looking for a counsellor because you want to understand yourself better and that you are ready for change.
WHAT DO I OFFER?
I am a Manchester-based counsellor/psychotherapist offering 1-2-1 sessions with adults. I provide a highly confidential space for clients to talk through whatever issues they feel are impacting upon them, so that together we can find a way to make changes.

I am passionate about working with people to help them become fulfilled and healthy, and I feel confident that counselling changes lives. I am a warm and relational person, and believe an honest and straight-forward approach is the very best way to work through problems. I have trained in both Person-centred counselling (Certificate level) and Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy (Advanced Diploma level), and these approaches support the view that everyone has the capacity to change, no matter how stuck or helpless they may feel.
I hold a certificate in 'Online and Telephone counselling' and am experienced with sessions over Zoom or Skype.
